Shipping policy
Processing and Delivery Times
Every order placed with Ayles Group is processed from our Milton Keynes warehouse within 1–2 business days of being received — we don't sit on orders, and we don't outsource fulfilment to a third party whose timelines we can't vouch for personally. Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are typically picked up for processing that same day; anything placed after 4pm, or on a weekend or bank holiday, will begin processing on the next working day instead. Once an order has been dispatched, UK delivery typically takes a further 5–6 business days in transit, which means the great majority of our customers can realistically expect their order to land within 6–8 business days of the original purchase, door to door, depending on exactly where in the UK they're based and which carrier the item is routed through.
Carriers and Coverage
We ship exclusively within the United Kingdom, using a combination of Royal Mail, DPD, and FedEx, with the specific carrier chosen based on the size, weight, and value of each individual order rather than a single blanket policy for everything we sell. Larger or bulkier items — grounds maintenance tools such as rakes being the obvious example — are typically routed through DPD or FedEx, since they're better suited to handling that kind of parcel reliably, while smaller safety equipment items are often sent via Royal Mail. This isn't an arbitrary split; it reflects which carrier consistently performs best for each type of product based on our own experience shipping them.
Free Shipping Threshold
Any order totalling £50 or more automatically qualifies for free UK shipping at checkout, with no code or workaround required. Orders that fall below that threshold will show a shipping cost at checkout, calculated based on the combined weight and destination of the items in your basket.
Tracking and Delays
Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number by email so you can follow its progress right up to your door. We aim to hit our stated delivery windows consistently, and in the overwhelming majority of cases we do — but it's worth being upfront that these estimates ultimately depend on the performance of our carrier partners' networks, which can occasionally be affected by things like severe weather or unusually high seasonal volume. If a delay does happen, get in touch and we'll chase it down on your behalf.
Questions About Your Order
If your tracking hasn't updated in a few days, an item has arrived incomplete, or anything about your delivery doesn't look right, don't wait to raise it — the sooner we know, the sooner we can chase it with the carrier or get a replacement moving. This applies whether you're a one-off buyer or a trade customer waiting on equipment for a scheduled job; either way, we treat a shipping issue as something to fix quickly, not something to work through a queue.
